The Journey, the adventure, the gift.

I have lived a thousand years, neigh ten thousand years. I have lived a thousand stories, neigh ten thousand tales. I have been a shepherd and a warrior. I have been a servant and I have been a king. I have traveled the world, I have sailed the seven seas. I have been a cowboy, a sheriff, a peasant and a vagabond.

I have taken the journey, I have lived the adventure, and I have accepted the gift. I am the storyteller. Neigh, not the great storyteller but merely one of his humble servants. I boast of the things I've seen, I boast of the adventures I've lived but mostly I boast of the gift I have received.

What gift you ask? I will tell you; but first I want to invite you to journey with me. This journey is not for the faint of heart. Are you ready? Are you able to take this journey with me? It is not an easy road. I have been attacked by bandits in the desert. Pirates have tried to board my ship at sea. I have been shipwrecked on a lonely island. The gift has sustained me though out those hard times.

Let me say now that the journey is not always a rough and rocky road. Neigh there has been many a time of great rejoicing. I have sung and danced, I have played the fool. I have serenaded the pretty maidens, I have made her giggle and blush. I have laughed and smiled many a day. Days filled with great joy. Oh what an adventure it has been.

The adventure is not for the men and lads with brave hearts alone. Neigh I invite the ladies and maidens to join in this great journey. Great women have shaped and molded the days of old much like a potter shapes a lump of clay into a beautiful vase. Great and humble women have changed the course of history. With they're strength and they're love, they're beauty and kindness they have made the journey a true adventure.

In the days to come you will hear stories of great victory, severe famine, earthquakes and floods. I will tell of mighty kings as well as foolish men. These tales are but a small part of the gift. I will present them to you with truth and honor. I will tell you of great men and women of old but more important I will show you how to become great men and women today and in the future. Will you journey with me?

The Journey, the adventure, the gift.

As I gaze into the dark night sky I see the myriad of stars above. Each star is like a story, each story simply a memory. Memories and stories are like starlight; they shine on forever. I have spent many a night around a campfire. Staring into the dancing orange embers, dreaming, reminiscing, and longing to hear the stories of the great storyteller. I close my eyes and open my imagination, slowly the memories, the stories come to me again.

That is not the only way I remember these tales I tell. Neigh not at all. Storytellers before me have recorded these great writings. We simply call them books. What a shame! We should not call them merely books. We should refer to these books as "The great writings of old" or maybe as "The grand adventure". The stories in these books inspire us, they shape us and mold us. They take you and I on a journey; a wonderful, mystical adventure.

What about the gift you ask? The gift was given by the great storyteller many a year ago. The gift was actually another storyteller. Not just any storyteller but the storytellers son. The storyteller sent his son to tell us about his father, the great storyteller; a creator of adventure. This son of a storyteller gave us many stories and parables. These tales were meant to give us hope, to warm our hearts, to bless us. We find comfort in his stories, we find peace within the courtyard of his parables.

This storyteller has been called by many names, he is known to us as Jesus!

And his is the greatest story ever told.
